This is a very well-written account of what happens on a night anywhere in the UK on the weekend. I used to work in the alcohol industry and the pressure to drink was enormous. I would go to more lengths to avoid this situation than an underage teenager trying to get into a club lol. You did the right thing with the food, another thing I used to do is have cheese. It’s hard doing rounds but I would get a plain tonic water (not easy move at a brewery) to pace it. There’s some really nice ones now - but not Schweppes!
