As I dined with other delegates, I learned that many have children. They told me that the schools these children attend would love to hear from them about COP26 when they return to their own countries. But what would they say? That their children’s lives will be defined by the climate crisis? That there was a total failure to act by those who came before them, and now it’s their turn to fend for themselves?
