Hi David good question. What I think is good about the companies I see is they usually have other good credentials like working with forests or WWF - here in the UK they are imported so the carbon used in transport from China is not good and it is better to use recycled paper here imho. There is a question over the forests in China if they have deforested to produce bamboo products but in broad terms decide from where it is made, whether it is bleached/coloured and packaging. And compare it to alternatives such as recycled paper. This is my opinion but I hope it may help :-)
