An interesting read, thank you. It is possible, and some countries have managed to ban plastic. The last time I was in Morocco, they had no plastic. I looked it into when I got back home, and found it was a sugar can by-product - like a material. They can be only produced in bulk and I found a supplier in Indonesia and Sweden. But it is possible, but it seems to need planning and direction from central government. The streets were remarkably clean of rubbish.
