A very honest post. BUT Please don’t give up. Broaden your interests but don’t give up. It’s a terrible time for the arts right now because of Covid, don’t make a decision based on now. Many in the classical music industry takes longer to develop your network, I’m talking in 30s and 40s. By then, I doubt your friend will be at Google or Facebook. It’s hard not to compare yourself when it’s a very tough time. I really hope you persevere! I don’t know you but I believe in you. Don’t put a deadline on it just yet in the middle of a pandemic.
